We need to stop "Filipino time" by starting events and plans on time.
Main Post:
I'm part of a student body at my school and that means we organise the events that are planned. Most of the time all events starts late because the whole event area would be empty or may lima or apat na tao lang tas hihintayin mo pa na mapuno yung whole area para mag start ang event which almost takes one hour or more.

I taught at a school where 99% of events start on time.
St. Theresa's College of Quezon City
I'm sorry, if the school admin does not have the culture of discipline and punctuality, the entire school community, including alumni, won't have the culture of punctuality either.
Any filipino events in Seattle I can attend?

Are there any Filipino social activities non Filipinos in the community can attend?
I lived in the Philippines for a few years and became fluent in tagalog while I was there, but that was six years ago and I’ve noticed my language skills are rapidly disappearing. I’d love to meet and talk to more Filipinos in the area, so I’m looking for any community or cultural activities where non-Filipinos are free to attend. Anyone know of any? Or of any forums or subreddits where I could find out?

Sari sari is a really good Filipino restaurant and market, and there should be some folks who speak Tagalog there who may be able to give her better pointers about locations and events.

Now I get it why Filipinos do not arrive on time.
Main Post:
I am that kind of person who arrives in school at 6:30am and 4 hours before the flight in the airport. My mom has this habit na palaging nagmamadali. Until I got a job na pwede lang maging late, as long as idagdag mo yun oras/minutes na late ka patungo sa OT mo.
My habit changed. I no longer arrive on time and got late by about 30mins in an event. What I have realized is, the event is already fully prepared. I no longer have to wait an hour for the event/program to begin. As soon as I arrive on the venue, everything is intact and ready.
So this might be the reason why some Filipinos intentionally become late. Not because they hate waking up early, but because they want the event to begin/ready as soon as they arrive.

Arriving at the airport before a flight is an exception. Filipinos arrive at major airports around 4 hours before departure. The cost of missing a flight is so severe that it pays to be a little extra early.
Where can I find Filipino pop-culture magazines, books, and comics?
Main Post:
I'm curious to see if there's still a dedicated market for zines, books, comics, tabloids?, really anything on paper. Things that talk about pop-culture, latest trends, urban legends, and the like, just to relive the pre-interwebs age. Yung magandang quality naman sana, I hope standards have improved after a decade.
I remember how I used to collect K-Zone as a child which i bought from Booksale, and some random horror story books from Natl Bookstore. It was my only way of knowing what my generation thinks or finds "cool" or what was "in".
Is there a place that is known for its book/zine/comic culture? It's nice to see pop-culture printed out sometimes, iba talaga pag nahahawakan mo. Kind of like how japan has a market for physical copies of music (CDs are still a thing), and manga.

Some university orgs usually have dedicated event for those. UPLB for one used to have Zine Orgy and Elbikon. Not sure how they conduct events this pandemic tho. Non-univ naman, may Komiket and Komikon.
